About us

City Life Church is a contemporary church in Johannesburg. We are passionate about reaching the people of our city with the message of what Jesus has done for them. The church was founded in June 2000. We believe that when Jesus is at the center of it all, it allows us to live for God and others.

The people

City Life Church welcomes people from all nations and languages. It's a uniquely international church that represents the rainbow colours of South Africa, Africa and the rest of the world.

City Life Church worship is dynamic & contemporary. We're privileged to have a worship team that is excellent in skill & attitude. They lead us in music that is fresh, relevant & inclusive.

THE MESSAGE

City Life Church has a vision to show our city who Jesus is. We believe it's all about God and other people. The messages are practical and grace filled, always keeping Jesus at the center.

Our leaders

Pastor James and Gini Monaghan planted City Life Church on the 18th June 2000. Ps James Monaghan was born in England and raised in Zimbabwe. He met and married Gini while attending Portland Bible College, which is in Portland, Oregon, USA. Pastor James and Gini Monaghan are affiliated with Ministers Fellowship International. They have 4 children, Christian, Jordan, Ethan and Gracie.

Advisory board
Ps James is the founder, lead pastor and chairman of City Life Church and as such, he has selected experienced and skilled business people, ministry peers and congregation members to speak into and give advice over church matters.

Staff
City Life Church has several full time and part time staff who have been hired to support the administrative and ministry programs of the church as needed.

Financial Management
City Life Church is both a None Profit Organization and a Public Benefit Organization. The finances of CLC are independently audited on an annual basis by an accredited accounting firm and submitted to SARS in accordance with the laws of South Africa. All financial payments require a two person authorization. An annual report of the churches activities and financial expenditures are made available at the end of each calendar year.
