FAQ

1. WHY A MALL?

  • People go to malls.
  • Malls are the very heart of modern day community, the epicenter of 21st century society.
  • Malls elevate visibility therefore giving a great platform to lift Jesus high in the city.

2. WHY CEDAR SQUARE?

  • It is an existing structure large enough to seat 3 000 in the main auditorium and an additional 1 000 in the 4 auxiliary auditoriums - big enough to accommodate our future growth.
  • The church will benefit from the existing infrastructure, such as restaurants, coffee shops, super markets as well as the numerous entertainment options. This enables the church to do life together in a beautiful, safe environment.
  • Cedar Square mall is located in one of the fasted growing areas in our City, which means that the church will be where the people are.
  • The church will be a witness in the community as malls form a fundamental part of community.
  • The structural maintenance of the property will not be a City Life Church expense.
  • There is free, secure covered parking.
  • It is in close proximity to our existing facility.

3. WHEN DOES BUILDING COMMENCE?

Our goal is the second half of 2012. However, our ability to commence building is directly linked to the rezoning process which we are currently engaged in. Additionally, this will be influenced by the raising of finances by the City Life Church congregation.

4. WHEN WILL WE RELOCATE THE CHURCH?

Our goal is by the end of 2012.

5. HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

The estimated cost of the whole project is approximately R40 MILLION. This number is still being finalized as there are many factors to be considered in a project of this scale. The financial strategy we feel to pursue in raising this amount of capital is for CITY LIFE CHURCH TO RAISE R10 MILLION AND TO MAKE UP THE DIFFERENCE BY EITHER SELLING OR LEASING THE CURRENT PROPERTY.
